How to make a FaceTime audio call on your Apple Watch

One of the best parts of having an Apple device is being able to connect with other Apple users via video and audio chats with just the tap of a button. While services like this aren't necessarily new or groundbreaking, the simplicity of Apple's FaceTime service - as well as the fact that it comes pre-installed with all new devices - make it a natural choice when wanting to connect with friends, family, business associates, or other contacts in a more advanced way than just plain text.Whether on iPhone, Mac desktop computers or laptops, or iPod Touch, FaceTime makes it easy to see and hear the people we want to talk to.If you have an Apple Watch, you may be wondering whether it's possible to use FaceTime on it as well - and the answer isn't quite so straightforward. While Apple Watch allows you to make FaceTime audio calls to your contacts when connected to cellular data or WiFi via the Phone app, it does not support FaceTime video calls. That's the bad news, but there's also good news: If you'd like to make a FaceTime audio call on your Apple Watch, it's quite easy to using Siri.Check out the products mentioned in this article:How to make a FaceTime audio call on the Apple Watch1. While pressing down on the Apple Watch's digital crown, say "Hey Siri." You can also tap the Siri widget if you have it activated on your Apple Watch.2. Say "FaceTime [your contact's name here]."Siri will then initiate a FaceTime audio call to the contact you named.Note that you can also initiate a FaceTime audio call on your Apple Watch by tapping the Phone app icon on your watch face, tapping Contacts, and then tapping on the contact you wish to call.FaceTime audio does have certain perks, especially when compared to a normal phone call. “I Prefer Being Senator, Not Minister”

Immediate past governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi has revealed his focus is on retrieving his senatorial mandate in the court as against pursuing ministerial appointment. He stressed serving at the Senate is his personal preference. The former governor denied he rejected ministerial appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he was not offered the appointment in the first place. He made the disclosures in a telephone chat with The Nation on Thursday.Reports went round on digital media on Wednesday he rejected a ministerial appointment offered him by the president. The report added that Ajimobi said the appointment should go to a younger member of the party. But the former governor told The Nation that it is impossible to reject what is not offered. He said he only expressed his personal choice for the Senate, stressing it was the reason he was committed to the petition his party filed against Sen. Kola Balogun at the tribunal. The latter was declared the winner of the Oyo South Senatorial District election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).The elected senator is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while Ajimobi is of the All Progressives Congress (APC).Ajimobi however affirmed the ministerial appointment should go to a younger member of the party in Oyo State since he is not the only APC member in the state. He said: “I am in court for my senatorial election. I only expressed my preference, that I am in court because I prefer the Senate.“How can I be pursuing the Senate and ministerial appointment at the same time? I prefer the Senate.“I hold President Muhammadu Buhari in high esteem. I will actually prefer a younger person to be considered for the ministerial slot since I am pursuing my senatorial ambition.”He said those behind the misleading report wanted to cause disaffection between him and President Buhari whom he has a lot of respect for.“I don’t know the source of their report. They just want to set me against Mr President and it won’t work,” Ajimobi said.See more posts about

House of Reps lacks constitutional powers to shut down Edo Assembly – Edo Govt

The Edo State Government has said that the House of Representatives lacks the Constitutional powers to shut down the Edo State House of Assembly. The state government’s statement is a response to the purported orders made on July 17, by the House of Representatives to the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to seal off Edo House of Assembly until a proper inauguration is done, amongst others. In a statement issued in Benin City, Secretary to Edo State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., maintained that “there is nowhere in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where the House of Representatives or even the National Assembly for that matter, is granted the right or power to shut down a State House of Assembly,” adding that “in point of fact such power is expressly excluded by the Constitution.”Ogie said: “It has come to the attention of the Government of Edo State that the House of Representatives at its sitting on 17th July, 2019 purported to issue certain orders regarding the status and activities of the Edo State House of Assembly.“Amongst others, it: Directed His Excellency, The Governor of Edo State to ‘issue a fresh proclamation for the inauguration of the House of Assembly’ and ordered the Inspector General of Police to shut down the premises of the Edo State House of Assembly and purported to make further orders in this regard.”According to the SSG, “The Government and people of Edo State are appalled and disappointed at the gross illegality and abuse of process by the House of Representatives.”He explained: “It must first of all be pointed out that the emergency supervisory powers over the activities of State Houses of Assembly which are contained in Section 11 of the Constitution of our Republic are expressly donated to “The National Assembly” and not one individual arm of it.He added that “These powers certainly do not extend to issuing directives to a duly elected State Governor to unlawfully repeat an act which has already been fully carried out in line with the Constitution.“It has further not been alleged or concluded by anyone that the Edo State House of Assembly is unable to sit. In fact, whenever the ‘self-exiled’ members-elect so choose, they can join their colleagues in plenary in Benin City.“It is also instructive to note that while the members of the House of Representatives were busy in Abuja issuing their unlawful and unconstitutional orders, the fact-finding delegation of the Distinguished Senate (the upper arm of the National Assembly) was in Benin meeting with Stakeholders with a view to fashioning a road map to peace in our land.”Ogie noted that “Students of history will recall that the crises in the Western Region Parliament in the 1960s which triggered a conflagration that eventually engulfed the entire nation, was precipitated by a similar attempt to use ‘Federal might’ to muscle, intimidate and overwhelm the functionaries of a Federating unit outside the due process of law.“Since the situation in the Edo State House of Assembly is a matter currently pending before two (2) Courts of competent jurisdiction, the Government of Edo State would not follow the contemptuous example of those who are currently commenting, adjudicating upon and giving directives on matters currently being litigated upon.”He emphasised “Suffice it to say however that there is nowhere in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where the House of Representatives or even the National Assembly for that matter, is granted the right or power to shut down a State House of Assembly, in point of fact such power is expressly excluded by the Constitution.”The state government advised “those interested parties who sit in positions of authority in Abuja and are using their offices to influence the House of Representatives to take note that we all ultimately owe a debt of accountability to the good people of Edo State for our actions.“We are certain that the Inspector General of Police, being a law-abiding Government Functionary will not act in disobedience to the Order of a Federal High Court in Benin, validly issue and served upon him restraining him from doing exactly what the House of Representatives now purport to direct him to do, which is to shut down the Edo State House of Assembly.“Both sides of this dispute are currently before the Court and we are shocked that the House of Representatives could allow itself to be made to act in breach of its own Rules which forbid it from entertaining or making pronouncements on matters before Courts.”Edo government acknowledged its respect for the National Assembly, but noted that “we live in a nation governed by laws, where no single individual or group is permitted to utilise its privileged position to oppress and intimidate the people of an entire State.“The Government does not intend to comment on the details of this House of Assembly dispute as same are clearly sub judice, but will ask all concerned to tread with caution so as not to precipitate crises simply in pursuit of selfish agenda.”Ogie added: “We must state that the final verdict in this matter will ultimately be rendered by the good people of Edo State, for whose benefit Government exists. We are certain therefore that this illegality will not stand.”Vanguard

Just in: Criminals cloning government websites

…Says criminals’ve cloned NSITF, NYSC websitesBy Anthony OgbonnaThe Department of State Services, DSS, has raised the alarm over the activities of those it described as criminals whom it said have cloned the websites of some government agencies, including those of the National Youths Services Corps,NYSC, and the Nigeria Social Investment Trust Fund, NSITF.The DSS, in a statement, Thursday, by its Spokesperson, Peter Afunanya said the “unscrupulous elements” have deployed the “official identities/paraphernalia of certain Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to shortchange vulnerable persons.”The DSS spokesperson, however, said that the secret agency is working with the affected agencies to identify the criminals and apprehend them.“Notably, the Nigeria Social Investment Trust Fund (NSITF) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have so far suffered the tricks of these fraudsters who use decoys to manipulate their victims.“This, in the case of NSITF, has resulted in loss of varying sums of money by those promised huge returns on Federal Government’s investments and other poverty alleviation initiatives which ended up as fraudulent Ponzi schemes or money doubling ventures.“On the other hand, some persons have also engaged in the illegal sale of NYSC kits and accoutrements to prospective Corps members. They also advertise the issuance of medical clearance certificates as well as redeployment of corps members to preferred States for primary assignment on medical, security, marital grounds or other reasons”.Vanguard
